Warre is de jongste van ons gezin. Broer van Jente en Noah.
Spring in't veld, sportief, guitig, moedig en onvoorwaardelijk.
In januari 2019 werd botkanker (ewing sarcoom) vastgesteld. Er volgde een ontzettend zwaar parcours van chemo en bestralingen, een rollercoaster tussen hoop en wanhoop.
Onverwacht snel is hij op 16 januari 2020 in zijn warme nest thuis overleden. We missen hem zo...
Wat Warre heeft moeten doorstaan, zou geen enkel kind mogen meemaken. De geneeskunde lijkt hier vaak al ver te staan, maar wij konden samen met Warre alleen maar vaststellen hoe dat voor zeldzame types van kinderkanker niet het geval is.

We have a mission. A beautiful mission. We want to cure every child with cancer.
Find new treatments, improve existing ones, and kick children’s cancer to send it far, far away forever and may it never come back!
We therefore financially support scientific research, and bring together the drive, inspiration and knowledge of everyone involved. From researchers, doctors and parents to politicians and pharmaceutical companies.
Only a joint effort can ensure that children with cancer are cured and better cured.
Your gift helps fund either a research project selected by KickCancer, in line with strict evaluation criteria, or our advocacy and awareness activities. Every new research project, policy milestone or patient empowerment initiative contributes to what truly matters: better treatments, more innovation and real hope for children, adolescents and young adults (AYA) with cancer.
Through FIGHT KIDS CANCER, a European initiative dedicated to paediatric oncology, we support innovative research projects. In Belgium, we work closely with the Belgian Society for Paediatric Haematology Oncology (BSPHO) to support the participation of Belgian paediatric oncology centres in international academic clinical trials.
Our advocacy and awareness activities are just as important. They aim to ensure that pharmaceutical companies are required or incentivised to invest more in research in paediatric cancer, that governments invest more in research infrastructure, and that other NGOs active in the cancer field play their part in advancing research in paediatric cancer.

Op 1 mei 2025 organiseerden we een Super Warre Wandeldag. Een dag om Warre*, die we al 5 jaar moeten missen, te herdenken en te vieren samen met vrienden en familie. Dankzij hun bijdrage kunnen we dit mooie bedrag schenken. 💚 Leen, Han, Jente, Noah
