Hugo, imbattable pour se cacher / In Memoriam

Hugo était un petit garçon de 10 ans en pleine santé, bourré de qualités et d'humour, lorsqu'il apprend qu'il est atteint d'un gliome infiltrant du tronc cérébral (DIPG).

Environ un an et demi plus tard, c'est un jeune homme un peu moins en forme, mais encore plus bourré de qualités, d'humour et de joie de vivre, dont ce terrible cancer nous a tous privé.

Hugo avait écrit un peu avant de partir qu'il était imbattable pour se cacher. Peut-être continue-t-il toujours à jouer...

Hugo continue à prendre soin de ceux qui sont restés, notamment à travers ce livre, dont les droits d'auteur seront reversés à des associations, comme KickCancer.

Find new treatments, improve existing ones, and kick children’s cancer to send it far, far away forever and may it never come back!

We therefore financially support scientific research, and bring together the drive, inspiration and knowledge of everyone involved. From researchers, doctors and parents to politicians and pharmaceutical companies.

Only a joint effort can ensure that children with cancer are cured and better cured.

Your gift helps fund either a research project selected by KickCancer, in line with strict evaluation criteria, or our advocacy and awareness activities. Every new research project, policy milestone or patient empowerment initiative contributes to what truly matters: better treatments, more innovation and real hope for children, adolescents and young adults (AYA) with cancer.

Through FIGHT KIDS CANCER, a European initiative dedicated to paediatric oncology, we support innovative research projects. In Belgium, we work closely with the Belgian Society for Paediatric Haematology Oncology (BSPHO) to support the participation of Belgian paediatric oncology centres in international academic clinical trials.

Our advocacy and awareness activities are just as important. They aim to ensure that pharmaceutical companies are required or incentivised to invest more in research in paediatric cancer, that governments invest more in research infrastructure, and that other NGOs active in the cancer field play their part in advancing research in paediatric cancer.
