Op 5 december 2025 mochten wij ons prachtige lichtje Lucia verwelkomen. Een tweede dochter, een groot geluk.

In april 2025 moesten Sarah en Dieter echter hun eigen tweede bundeltje geluk Mattia afgeven. Nog geen anderhalf jaar oud was hij, en ondanks het feit dat hij gevochten heeft als een kleine, dappere leeuw, verloor hij toch de strijd tegen een uiterst zeldzame hersentumor.

Omdat onze kasten al uitpuilen met de leukste en handigste babyspullen, besloten wij geen geboortelijst te leggen. Wij hebben echt oprecht alles wat we nodig hebben.

Moest je onze kleine spruit toch écht graag iets willen schenken, dan zouden wij het fantastisch vinden moest je je - geheel vrijblijvend - samen met ons willen inzetten voor KickCancer.

Zodat geen enkele ouder hun bolletje geluk nog moet afgeven aan deze vreselijke ziekte.

We have a mission. A beautiful mission. We want to cure every child with cancer.

Find new treatments, improve existing ones, and kick children’s cancer to send it far, far away forever and may it never come back!

We therefore financially support scientific research, and bring together the drive, inspiration and knowledge of everyone involved. From researchers, doctors and parents to politicians and pharmaceutical companies.

Only a joint effort can ensure that children with cancer are cured and better cured.

Your gift helps fund either a research project selected by KickCancer, in line with strict evaluation criteria, or our advocacy and awareness activities. Every new research project, policy milestone or patient empowerment initiative contributes to what truly matters: better treatments, more innovation and real hope for children, adolescents and young adults (AYA) with cancer.

Through FIGHT KIDS CANCER, a European initiative dedicated to paediatric oncology, we support innovative research projects. In Belgium, we work closely with the Belgian Society for Paediatric Haematology Oncology (BSPHO) to support the participation of Belgian paediatric oncology centres in international academic clinical trials.

Our advocacy and awareness activities are just as important. They aim to ensure that pharmaceutical companies are required or incentivised to invest more in research in paediatric cancer, that governments invest more in research infrastructure, and that other NGOs active in the cancer field play their part in advancing research in paediatric cancer.
