Le 13 juillet 2018, Hugo, onze ans pour toujours, nous quittait des suites d'un gliome infiltrant du tronc cérébral (DIPG), une tumeur au cerveau redoutable et encore incurable. Sa maladie avait été diagnostiquée fin novembre 2016... Pourtant, Hugo se plaisait à dire, lorsque le regard des autres lui pesait, qu'il était peut-être malade mais en tout cas qu'il n'était pas malheureux.

Lorsque la destination est connue, ce qui est vraiment important c'est le chemin. Celui de Hugo a été trop court mais pas sans lumière. Et c'est aussi grâce à la médecine, qui a ralenti sa maladie, faute de ne pouvoir encore l'arrêter.

La Fondation KickCancer finance des projets de recherche sur le DIPG, la maladie qui a emporté Hugo et tant d'autres coeurs vaillants. Soutenons-la!

FIGHT KIDS CANCER is a European call for projects that we launched together with Imaginefor Margo (France) and Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner (Luxembourg).

On April 22nd, we officially closed the application period with 23 projects submitted by research teams coming from 9 different European countries –while each project involves a collaboration with several other European teams.

We shall officially announce the selected projects mid-June, when the appraisal by independent international experts will have been completed.
