On September 28th, my mom and I will be running 10 km during Run To Kick, an event organized by KickCancer to fund innovative cancer research.

This cause is very personal to us. Not long ago, Emma was diagnosed with cancer at 23. She was fortunate that for her type of cancer, research has already led to effective treatments, which gave her a real chance to fight cancer.

Our own experience with cancer made us realize that this is not the case for everyone. Far too many still lack effective treatment options, which is why continued research is so critical.

That’s why, together with my mom, I’m running and raising money for KickCancer. From the day I was diagnosed, my mom and dad were always by my side. They cared for me endlessly and comforted me whenever I felt like I couldn’t keep going. Being able to run these 10 km together with my mom feels incredibly special. Just as we went through my cancer treatment together, we can now run together to make a difference for others.
